A possible move for Kit Hall

Over the last few weeks, we have been discussing the addition of another trainer at Crimson Farms; we are pleased to say that it looks as though Internationally recognized and highly respected Kit Hall will be joining us here in the valley.

Kit has trained and shown numerous National Champions and Reserves in every major division of the Arabian breed, including, Western, Reining, Cow Horse, English, Park, Driving, Halter, and Country English. This lifetime achievement makes Kit Hall one of the most versatile professionals in the industry.

Along with his numerous accomplishments in the show ring, Kit is also a level One Judge and has been a large R Judge for over 17 years, judging shows all over the United States, Brazil and Australia ... He also served on the Western Panel at the 2004 Youth National Championship show in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
We are thrilled at the prospect of having one of the Arabian horse industry’s greatest Performance trainers calling Crimson Farms ‘home’, and are looking forward to the new dimension he will add to the facility.

News From Canada - Desert Heat VF+

At thirteen years old, Desert Heat VF+ let the world know that he still has what it takes to get the job done ... Although it was a small class, Desert Heat brings the red roses home to California for the fourth time; this time as the Canadian Nationals AOTH Stallion with owner Susanne Mackrell.

Heat’s first time being named Champion was in 1995 when he was named Yearling Sweepstakes Colt at the U.S. National show; he then went on to be named U.S. National Champion Futurity Colt in 1997, and Canadian National Champion Senior Stallion in 2002. Along with his National Champion titles, Desert Heat VF+ has brought home the Reserve Champion roses three times ... in 1997 as the Canadian National Res. Champ. Futurity Colt, in 1998 as the U.S. National Res. Champ. Stallion, and in 2002 as the U.S. National Res. Champ. Senior Stallion. Desert Heat VF+ will return to the show ring one more time this year at the U.S. National Championship Horse Show in Albuquerque, New Mexico ... we hope that we will see you there as this handsome stallion says goodbye to what has been a long and remarkable show career.

News From Canada - Vertigo CF

Vertigo CF added another title to his show record at the Canadian Nationals when he was named Top Ten out of a very tough class of Two-Year-Old colts with Rich Simpkins on the lead. The striking young colt caused quite a buzz among trainers and onlookers alike as he made his way down the in-gate ramp in Regina, and the buzz was still going long after the class ... Vertigo CF is finished showing for the year, but he will make his way back in to the show ring in February when he shows in Scottsdale.

News From Canada - TK Kool Fantasy

TK Kool Fantasy didn’t let the boys have all of the glory ... Fantasy and Rich made a beautiful showing in the ½ Arab Futurity Filly class and were rewarded with the Reserve Champion roses. This was not Kool Fantasy’s first time wearing the Res. Champion roses ... she was also named Res. Champion in 2005 in the U.S. Nationals Yearling Sweepstakes class when she was shown by Andy Sellman. Fantasy will return to the ring with Rich for the U.S. Nationals ½ Arab Futurity class in Albuquerque later this year.

News From Canada - Voyageurs

The Desert Heat son Voyageurs, ridden by owner Hillary Hoffman, also added to his already wonderful show record by taking a Top Ten in the Arabian Western Pl AAO 18-39 class. We are very proud of both Hillary and Voyageurs and we wish them the best of luck at the U.S. National show.

Regional Wrap-up

With Nationals looming in the near future, Crimson Farms made their yearly pilgrimage to Regionals...

First heading out to Region I. The absence of a pre-show this year meant fewer representatives from the farm, and from the looks of things and number of over-all horses at the show, it meant fewer entries from a number of other farms as well. Low entries aside, Glori Phi CF qualified for Nationals by being named Champion in the ½ Arab Yearling Filly Sweepstakes class. Dana Dulane also qualified for Nationals by placing in the Top Ten of the Arabian Yearling Sweepstakes Colt class.

Region II was next, where Chantilly Lace CF and Ali Brady made their way to a Top Five in the ½ Arab Western Pleasure Jr. Horse class. Also earning a spot at Nationals were TK Kool Fantasy in ½ Arab Open Halter.

Region III Opened with Desert Heat and Susanne earning top honors in the pre-show by bringing home the AOTH Stallion Champion title, followed by Desert Heat and Rich earning the Reserve Champion title in the Open Stallions. Chantilly Lace (Allusion AOF+ x DDA Fames Contessa) once again proved that she deserves kudos by exiting the arena with the Reserve Champion ribbons and roses in the HA/AA Western Pleasure Futurity with Ali Brady ... Ali also showed Allari CF (Allusion AOF+ x TR Ferrari) to a Reserve Champion title in the Region III Hunter Pleasure Futurity, proving once again that Allusion AOF+ is indeed a sire worth noting.

Moving on to the Regional classes, Desert Heat and Susanne took Reserve Champion honors in the AOTH Stallions, followed by a Reserve Champion title for Vertigo CF and Rich Simpkins in the Two Year Old Colts class a couple of days later. Ali Brady kept her roll going by showing Mustang Sally to a Top Five in the ½ Arab Country English Pleasure class during the Friday evening classes, followed by a beautiful ride Saturday morning on Chantilly Lace in the ½ Arab Western Pleasure Jr. Horse Regional class in which they took a well deserved Top Five award ... Ali had done such a wonderful job with the first Performance horses we had placed with her, that we were delighted when she agreed to take on a few more ... as we expected, we have not been disappointed and we are looking forward to Canadian and U.S. Nationals with her.

Desert Heat Sons Shine in Show Ring

Whether you show, trail ride, or simply enjoy watching your horses wander around their pastures, please let us know what you are up too ... we always enjoy hearing from you.

We are thrilled to announce that Voyaguers (Desert Heat VF+ x No Small Affair) owned and shown by Hillary Hoffman, was named 2007 Region X Purebred Western Pleasure Champion AAOTR 18-35. Voyageurs and Hillary have had quite a nice show career so far and we are looking forward to hearing many more great things about this terrific duo. Congratulations to both Hillary and Voyageurs on a job well done, and we wish you the best of luck in all of your future endeavors ... Please keep us up to date on what you are doing.

Congratulations go out to owner Pat Glover and Chill Factor NR as well for their recent wins at the Finger Lakes All Arab Show in New York and the Region XVI Championships ... At the Finger Lakes show, Chill Factor NR (Desert Heat VF+ x Rudeys Vision) scored an 88 to win the Gelding Sport Horse in Hand ... along with winning his Sport Horse class, Chill Factor then went on to be named Hunter Pleasure Champion at the show. Chill Factor added more ribbons to his already impressive collection when he was named Region XVI Champion Arabian Sport Horse 2 and Over Gelding ATH and Reserve Champion Arabian Sport Horse Open Gelding. Congratulations Pat and Chill Factor ... and thank you for sending us a photo so that we can show the world how lovely Chill Factor is.

Pacific Slope Championship, CA Futurity, & AHASFV Show

The show started with Susanne and Desert Heat VF+ taking the Reserve Champion spot in the Pacific Slope Open Stallion Championship, followed by EF Bella Contessa taking home Champion honors in both the Pacific Slope Open Mares with Rich Simpkins and Pacific Slope AOTH Mares with Susanne.

Vertigo CF and Dana Dulane made waves in Santa Barbara as well, when they both took the first place spots in their classes, and then when on to be named Jr. Champion and Reserve Jr. Champion Colts respectively ... Both were shown by Rich Simpkins in their age group classes; Vertigo was shown to his Champion title by Rich, and Dana Dulane was shown to the Reserve title by Carmello valez of Daydream Arabians.

In his first outing, Miyaz (Gazal x Kaiynda Special) was shown to a Reserve Champion title in the California Futurity, and rounding out the group, TK Kool Fantasy placed first in her ½ Arab Mare class and Psypress MLR was named to a Top Three in the Pacific Slope Championship Open Geldings.

The Performance division was not left out of the ribbons ... Chantilly Lace CF and Jewel CF both returned home adorned with Champion ribbons. Chantilly Lace took her honors in the ½ Arabian W.P. Jr. Horse division, and Jewel CF brought home her title in ½ Arabian Hunter Pleasure Jr. Horse ... both mares where ridded by Ali Brady of Jade Creek Arabians.

Multi-National Champion Desert Heat VF+

Dana Dulane Arrives at Crimson Farms

The line up of stallions keeps on growing at Crimson Farms with the addition of the Baywatch V++ son Dana Dulane. This handsome bay colt is out of the Bacardi Afire daughter Shannacey D, merging three remarkable stallions, Desperado V, Huckleberry Bey++ and Afire Bey V, in to one outstanding pedigree. In his first outing, Dana Dulane took top honors in the AOTH Colts class, a dazzling class of fourteen colts. We are looking forward to a long and successful endeavor with Dana Dulane, and we will be showing him later this year at Regionals and potentially U.S. Nationals.

Scottsdale Show a Huge Success

In keeping with the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show, the weather was unpredictable, the crowds large, the horses spectacular, and the fun immeasurable. Crimson Farms, along with Simpkins Training Center, made a number of trips through the in-gate, and brought home a number of ribbons to add to the trophy case.

Starting off the show, EF Bella Contessa laid claim to a Top Ten in the AOTH Mare class ... Bells followed that up by also earning a Top Ten placing in the Open Mares with Rich Simpkins. Next in the ring was Glori Phi CF in the ½ Arab Yearling Filly Saddle Pleasure Type class, where she picked up a Top Ten with Rich, and like Bella Contessa, she also followed up with an additional Top Ten in her AOTH class. TK Kool Fantasy brought home Top Ten ribbons in both the Open ½ Arab Stock Hunter Type and AOTH Mares, and CA Amorosa picked up a Top Ten in The Open Mares division as well, making it a great show for the girls of Crimson Farms.

Not to be out-done by the girls, the boys made a great showing as well. GR Marvel made his show ring debut in a very tough Yearling Colts class with Rich ... the end result being a well-deserved Top Ten. Vertigo CF received a well-merited Top Ten when he was shown in the Two Year Old Colt class with Rich, but the final class of the show, The Signature Stallion Two Year Old Colt class, brought the greatest excitement when he was named Reserve Champion.

New Additons at Crimson Farms

“Projects” are nothing new at Crimson Farms; some of them are just bigger than others ... This year’s project is the addition of a new custom designed MD Barn. The new barn will be approximately 80’ x 230’, will include an indoor stallion collection and mare breeding area, a lab, a spacious farrier area, and thirty-two 12x12 stalls, bringing our total stall count to eighty-three. We have completed the barn foundation and hope to have the barn completed and ready for move-in in the early spring of this year.

The barn is actually being built by Kenny, but as is the practice here at the farm, everyone gets involved ... trainers included. In addition to helping us with the initial design of the barn, Rich Simpkins has spent a little time learning the ins and outs of heavy equipment operation ... Rich’s work is being overseen by two of our best staff coordinators.

Additions to Stallion Line-Up

Crimson Farms is delighted to announce the addition of three wonderful young colts to our breeding program.

Vertigo CF (Versace x Bint Alianna [Padrons Psyche]) joins the breeding program as of the 2007 breeding season, while GR Marvel (Marwan Al Shaqab x LC Ferrarity) and Miyaz (Gazal Al Shaqab x Kaiynda Special) will begin covering mares in 2008.

Scottsdale Signature Stallion Program

As of 2007, the stallions of Crimson Farms will be participating in the Scottsdale Signature Stallion program ...

As you may already know, by nominating your Purebred mares that are bred to our stallions, the resulting offspring will be eligible to participate in the classes offered exclusively for them at the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show held in February.

The prize money for the Signature Stallion classes has become quite substantial, and in turn people have seen an increase of interest in the foals that are eligible for them.

As of 2007, in addition to the already popular Halter classes, the Signature Stallion classes will now include Performance classes for the resulting offspring.

The three Crimson Farms stallions that will participate in the auction for 2007 are Allusion AOF+, EA Errogonce, and Vertigo CF; we will add GR Marvel and Miyaz to the program for 2008.

Other Additions to Crimson Farms

We are delighted to have three lovely new mares, EF Bella Contessa, TK Kool Fantasy, and Psyches Contessa join us here at the ranch. EF Bella Contessa is a QR Excel daughter out of the mare Countess Shabaska; Bells has already laid claim to Champion titles in Regions I & II and a Canadian Nationals Top Ten ... we are excited to be taking her back in to the show ring this year in Halter Mares with Rich Simpkins. TK Kool Fantasy is a TF Totally Kool+++/ daughter out of the mare Gramm Cracker+/; Fantasy brings a Region I Champion and a U.S. National Reserve Champion title with her as she heads for this year’s ½ Arab Futurity classes. Psyches Kontessa is a Padrons Psyche daughter, out of the Desperado V daughter, Bint Kontessa; Kontessa will be showing in the Purebred Futurity Filly classes at Nationals this year.

Whittier Host Lions Club Show – Jan. 2007

Three of the Crimson Farms horses returned home from their first show of the season with First Place ribbons.

First Place awards went to Chantilly Lace for her ½ Arab W.P. Jr. Horse class, Psyches Moment for her W.P. Maiden Horse class, and Mustang Sally for her ½ Arab CEP class ... Chantilly Lace was also named Reserve Champion in her Championship class.

We elected to not show Moment back in her Championship class, and there was not a ½ Arab CEP Championship class offered for Mustang Sally.

Lace and Mo will be headed for Scottsdale later this month, but those hoping to see Sally show will have to wait until Regionals later this year.
